Preparations Begin For Northern Gold Coast's Biggest Carols Event!

It’s two months out from the most wonderful time of the year, and preparations for the Northern Gold Coast’s biggest Christmas event are in full swing in anticipation of a crowd of up to 20,000 people. Click here for full release.

What are the details of the event?Sunday the 8th of December 2024, Pre-Show starts at 6pm. Location is Brien Harris Oval, Ormeau.

What time is the show?Pre-show starts at 6pm, the main show starts at 7pm.

What will parking be like around Brien Harris Oval?As a much loved event, the intersection of Peachey Rd and Orange Mountain Rd, Ormeau, will be affected due to increased traffic. Free shuttles are provided to save the stress of parking - check this out on the Park N Ride page. On street parking will be available as signed in the streets surrounding Brien Harris Oval. The southbound lane along Orange Mountain Rd will be closed from 3pm on Sunday the 8th of December, 2024, until 10:30pm. This is to facilitate extra parking.

What accessibility is available?A disabled drop-zone is located alongside the bus drop zone on the southern end of the oval (accessible via Peachey Rd)

Will there be fireworks?What is a carols show without fireworks?! There will be a display at the conclusion of the show.

What food will be available?We have a variety of food vans that will be coming - from pizzas and burgers, to international foods, come and support our locally sourced vendors.

How can I watch the show?All viewing of the show will be from the playing field of the oval. Bring picnic blankets and pillows. Camping chairs are ok, but let’s remember to be considerate of those around and behind us.

How do I get to the carols?There are parking options in the residential streets around the Brien Harris Oval. Please be courteous and consider our neighbours when you are parking. This year we also have park n ride options - you can find these over on our Park ’n Ride page.

I can't make it on the 8th and don't want to miss out. How can I watch the show?We know that different situations can impact our ability to attend events like carols, so we have partnered with Vision Radio to make our event accessible for everyone! This year the Northern Gold Coast Carols will be live-streamed via their app. To gain access, simply download the app and follow the prompts.

Can I bring my dog?We are bound by the local by-laws and responsible pet owners are welcome. Check out the by-laws here. Please consider whether fireworks will present a problem for your pooch.

Can I bring alcohol?Drinking alcohol in a public place in Queensland is illegal, and there are no exemptions for this event. Police will also be patrolling during the evening.
